Business Development Director – Supply Chain Center of Excellence

About the role

Cognite is seeking a senior Business Development Director to lead growth of its Supply Chain Center of Excellence. You will own the full sales cycle, targeting large industrial accounts and helping customers transform their supply chain with Cognite’s AI‑driven data platform.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a territory strategy to accelerate bookings and win high‑impact supply‑chain clients.
• Prospect, build pipeline and deliver commercial insights that optimize the supply‑chain value chain.
• Lead cross‑functional teams—including pre‑sales, technical experts and partners—through complex enterprise sales cycles.
• Quantify ROI, craft business cases and present value‑based selling propositions to C‑suite executives.
• Collaborate with product and marketing to feed real‑world supply‑chain insights back into product strategy.

Required profile

• 10+ years in manufacturing or industrial supply‑chain environments.
• 7+ years of enterprise SaaS sales experience, consistently meeting or exceeding bookings targets.
• Proven ability to influence and lead cross‑functional deal teams with high autonomy.
• Strong executive communication skills for C‑level engagement.

Required skills

• Experience selling complex analytics, AI, Big Data or Machine Learning platforms.
• Familiarity with modern data architectures and tools such as Hadoop, Spark, Hive, BigQuery and data warehouses.
• Knowledge of Salesforce.com for sales forecasting and pipeline management.
