Business Intelligence & Applications Manager (MGM7)

About the role

The Business Intelligence, IB Applications Manager (MGM7) will lead the delivery of software programming, technical improvements and support for the Postal Technology Centre Directorate (DCTP) of the Universal Postal Union. This senior position oversees a team of developers, ensures robust system architecture, and coordinates data analysis and reporting platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage software development, technical enhancements, and support activities for DCTP.
• Supervise a team of software developers, conduct performance discussions and support staff development.
• Coordinate feasibility studies, analyse user requirements and contribute to functional specifications for data analytics and quality‑of‑service applications.
• Participate in designing technical specifications and overall software architecture under guidance of senior architects.
• Develop and maintain project plans, estimate workloads, set priorities and manage task schedules.
• Provide technical oversight during development, ensure unit testing follows functional and technical specifications.
• Ensure comprehensive source‑code documentation and support creation of end‑user documentation.
• Contribute to test planning, execution and issue resolution for final software releases.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading software development teams and managing project delivery.
• Ability to conduct performance reviews, mentor staff and allocate tasks effectively.
• Strong analytical skills for feasibility studies and translating user requirements into functional specifications.
• Experience in planning, estimating workloads and managing project timelines.
• Attention to detail in documentation, testing and quality assurance processes.
