Captive Centre of Excellence Intern (Hybrid, 80-100%)

About the role

Swiss Re Corporate Solutions' Captive Centre of Excellence (COE) is looking for an intern embedded in its small, high-impact team at the heart of the Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) strategy. The intern takes responsibility from day one: creating new solutions for clients, supporting transactions, developing Swiss Re's captive value proposition, conducting market research and engaging with stakeholders across the organisation and the wider market. The role is hybrid, 80-100%, and the expected start date is 1 November 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in advancing transactions and developing leads through client needs assessments.
• Contribute to structured and alternative risk transfer product positioning, including structured fronting, parametric insurance, risk financing and legacy solutions.
• Lead market research and intelligence on captive trends, regulation, competitors and client needs, turning findings into actionable insights.
• Support the captive value proposition, including marketing materials and conference content.
• Engage with internal teams such as ART, Underwriting, Legacy Solutions, Client & Distribution Management and Swiss Re Institute to align on messaging.
• Help build and maintain the captive pipeline dashboard to track business development activities and opportunities.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Master's programme in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Risk Management, Law or a related field.
• Self-starter comfortable in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment, with a genuine interest in structured insurance and alternative risk transfer.
• Proven ability to work across teams and functions, and excellent written and verbal English.
• For non-EU/EFTA and UK citizens, a university letter confirming the internship is part of the course of study is required.

Nice to have

• Prior internship or academic exposure to (re)insurance, financial services or risk management.
• Familiarity with captive insurance structures or corporate risk financing.
• Experience preparing presentations, reports or marketing materials for a professional audience.
• German or French, and an entrepreneurial mindset for business development.
