About the role
Seprify transforms cellulose, the earth's most abundant biopolymer, into high‑performance, fully natural ingredients. As a Chemical Process Operator you will join a small, hands‑on team that runs the company’s pilot plant under the guidance of a Chemical Engineer. You will be responsible for safe, reliable operation of state‑of‑the‑art reactors, mixing tanks, drying units and related equipment.
Key responsibilities
- Operate the pilot‑plant facility, including reactors, mixing tanks, heating/cooling systems, mechanical processing equipment and drying units.
- Maintain and modify automated batch units as needed and perform routine equipment maintenance.
- Handle raw materials and chemicals safely using a forklift, loading and unloading large loads.
- Perform routine material characterisation such as pH, turbidity, particle size and solid‑content measurements.
- Report daily to the Engineering Lead and collaborate closely with the pilot‑plant team.
Required profile
- Qualified as a chemical lab technician (Chemielaborant EFZ) or equivalent.
- More than 3 years experience in process operation within cosmetics, pharmaceutical or food processing.
- Hands‑on experience with pilot‑scale equipment (reactors, washing, drying) and strong safety knowledge for handling acids, bases and solvents.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and thrive in a fast‑paced startup environment.
- Team‑player, self‑motivated, curious and adaptable.
Required skills
- Operation of pilot‑scale reactors and automated batch units.
- Forklift certification and safe material handling.
- Material characterisation techniques (pH, turbidity, particle size, solid content).
- Equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Safety procedures for high‑concentration acids, bases and solvents.
