Childcare Assistant – Preschool & Primary Support

About the role

Collège du Léman is seeking a dedicated Childcare Assistant to support preschool and primary students enrolled in the extracurricular program. Working closely with teachers and parents, you will ensure a safe, welcoming, and enriching environment for children after school hours.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome children at the end of the school day and relay relevant information from teachers.
• Assist with personal hygiene, dressing, bathroom visits, and changing nappies for preschoolers.
• Maintain cleanliness of areas and equipment used by students.
• Accurately record and administer daily information and logistics.
• Provide consistent feedback to parents and acquire pedagogical knowledge of each child.
• Accompany students to their next destination and supervise activities, including weekly preschool sessions.
• Participate in induction, department meetings, and liaise with internal departments for logistical needs.

Required profile

• Good judgment, ability to prioritize, and initiative.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with children and adults.
• Flexibility and professional distance in line with child‑protection guidelines.
• Fluency in English (mandatory); French is an asset.
• Experience working with preschool and/or primary children.

• Part‑time schedule (approximately 18 hours per week) across Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (15:15‑18:15) and Wednesday (starting at 12:00).
