Client Advisor – PCT Services (Geneva)

About the role

The Client Advisor supports small and medium‑sized applicants using the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) system. Based in Geneva, the role ensures high‑quality service, examines formalities, and liaises with international IP offices.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with IP offices such as CNIPA and IPOS to strengthen cooperation.
• Act as focal point for small‑ and medium‑sized clients, analyse frequent defects and provide proactive advice and training.
• Examine formality requirements of international applications, especially those filed in Chinese, and forward complex issues to the Team Head.
• Monitor late or non‑payment of fees and take appropriate actions, such as blocking applications or sending reminders.
• Respond to complex client queries, resolve problems related to ePCT and other PCT services, and ensure timely follow‑up.
• Assist in sorting, prioritising and distributing work within the team, meeting deadlines and proposing workflow improvements.
• Prepare and review publications for international release, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Participate in testing of PCT electronic systems and tools.

Required profile

• Under supervision of the Team Head, with frequent interaction with external customers, PCT legal and IT specialists.
• Proficiency in at least two languages, including Chinese for document examination.
• Strong understanding of PCT procedures and formalities.
