About the role
The Client Liaison supports the Global Fine Art (GFA) team in Switzerland by handling client interactions, coordinating pre‑ and post‑sale activities, and providing administrative assistance to Fine Art Specialists. The role ensures a seamless experience for consignors and buyers across Sotheby’s European offices.
Key responsibilities
- Organise pipeline management meetings with the GFA team to review sourcing initiatives.
- Handle client requests related to consignments, bid registration, loan requests, transactional history, accounts and valuations.
- Coordinate and execute pre‑sale targeting strategies for global auctions.
- Track and maintain target lists, consignment lists, buyer results and artist sourcing projects.
- Monitor the consignment process before and after sales to maximise sell‑through rates.
- Liaise with Shipping, Client Accounts, Events, Sotheby’s Preferred and other specialist departments to guarantee smooth operations.
- Assist specialists during client visits, valuations and proposal preparation.
- Update client lists for mailings, invitations and engagement campaigns.
- Support the Swiss GFA team with business development initiatives, including large‑volume email communications.
Required profile
- Strong understanding of domestic and international auction processes and private sales.
- Excellent client service orientation and ability to communicate effectively with existing and potential clients.
- Proven organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work collaboratively with international colleagues and various internal departments.
