CloudOps Engineer

About the role

Skyquest is seeking a CloudOps Engineer to join its Software Operations team. You will work closely with the Head of Software Operations to keep client cloud environments running smoothly, make safe changes, and continuously improve the platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Manage releases, deployments, and operational support for Kubernetes environments.
• Use Terraform, Helm, GitLab CI, and ArgoCD on a daily basis.
• Respond to incidents and participate in on‑call rotations.
• Develop internal modules, pipelines, and tooling that benefit all clients.
• Interact directly with clients when required.
• Support migration and onboarding projects, including on‑site workshops in German‑speaking Switzerland.
• Ensure security best practices: least‑privilege access, no hard‑coded secrets.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in Cloud operations, Platform engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Background as a software engineer with production code, preferably in Python or Go.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, load balancers, NAT, firewalls, application gateways, Ingress, Gateway API).
