Co-Tech Lead & Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

LocalBini is seeking a Co‑Tech Lead & Senior Backend Engineer to help scale its platform for cultural and exclusive city experiences across Europe. The role can be part‑time or full‑time and focuses on backend development, cloud infrastructure, and ensuring high‑quality software delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the System Architect to maintain a high‑quality, scalable architecture.
• Work with a remote development team and the St. Gallen business team to define and refine solutions.
• Develop robust Python backend services and REST APIs.
• Build and manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform, leveraging PaaS, SaaS, FaaS, and IaaS components.
• Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end‑to‑end tests.
• Implement mobile‑responsive design principles for features.
• Produce technical documentation and support data‑science initiatives.

Required profile

• At least 8 years of commercial Python development experience.
• Strong familiarity with React, AWS services (Lambda, S3, SES, SQS, DynamoDB, OpenSearch, EventBridge, Cognito, Amplify), Terraform, and Flutter.
• Experience building REST APIs, using ORM with PostgreSQL, and working with asyncio, aiohttp.
• Background in event‑driven, microservices, and domain‑driven design.
• Basic knowledge of React with Redux/Redux Toolkit and TypeScript.
• DevOps mindset with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) and testing expertise.
