Job description

About the role

CERN's Human Capital Management (HCM) project is reshaping the HR systems and processes supporting people throughout their working lives at CERN, from recruitment to departure. As part of the HCM Change and Adoption team, you will help communicate this transformation to CERN's diverse community, shaping an audience-focused approach that explains what is changing, why it matters and what it means for people.

Key responsibilities

  • Translate the HCM communication strategy into concrete communication activities.
  • Plan and deliver communications around project milestones, managing multiple deliverables and deadlines autonomously.
  • Turn complex information into clear, engaging messages for different audiences, working closely with experts and stakeholders.
  • Create content across channels and formats, including posts, emails, webpages, presentations, one-pagers, toolkits, videos and other multimedia.
  • Manage HCM communication channels and editorial planning.
  • Contribute to wider change and adoption activities such as surveys and learning materials.

Required profile

  • National of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
  • Professional background in Communications, Marketing or a related field, with either a Master's degree and 2 to 6 years of post-graduation experience, or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation experience.
  • No previous CERN fellow or graduate contract.
  • Experience in communications, ideally in organisational change or a large-scale transformation project.
  • Spoken and written English; knowledge of French is an advantage, and a commitment to learn French is listed as eligible.

Required skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
  • Ability to translate complex information into clear content for different audiences.
  • Experience managing communication activities and an editorial calendar against multiple deadlines.
  • Content creation, web, presentation and visual communication tools; video/multimedia experience is an advantage.
  • Strong organisation and collaboration skills.

What we offer

  • Fixed-term contract of 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months.
  • Hybrid working, 40 hours per week, target start date 1 January 2027.
  • Monthly net stipend of 6,372 or 7,004 Swiss Francs depending on degree.
  • 30 days of paid leave plus 2 weeks annual closure, health insurance coverage, pension fund membership and family allowances.
  • Relocation package and on-the-job and formal training including language classes.
