Compliance Officer – Global Sanctions Advisory (80-100% FTE)

About the role

Join Julius Baer as a Compliance Officer focusing on Global Sanctions Advisory, working 80%‑100% of full‑time. You will be part of the centre of competence for sanctions matters, advising on international sanctions and embargoes across the group.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance on financial products and services affected by sanctions and advise employees on compliance measures.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments, implement applicable laws (UN, US, UK, EU, CH) and ensure correct application of sanctions regimes.
• Collaborate with local compliance teams, support projects, audits, and perform quality assurance and business testing of applications.
• Prepare internal guidelines, alerts, and control designs, and conduct training on sanctions for all lines of defence.

Required profile

• Completed bank apprenticeship or university degree (Bachelor/Master) in Law, Economics, Political Science, Audit or Finance.
• Several years of experience in sanctions, embargoes, legal, compliance, risk, audit, operations or related banking functions.
• Business‑fluent English and meticulous, precise work ethic.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of international sanctions and embargoes (CH, EU, US, UK, UN).
• Understanding of financial products and services impacted by sanctions.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office products and IT processes.
• Flair for IT, AI and database utilities is a plus.
