Credit Lead (Underwriter) – Fintech & Payments Expertise

About the role

Tether Capital is launching a new credit vertical that provides short‑term liquidity and credit facilities to fintech companies, payment providers, exchanges and other financial institutions. As Credit Lead (Underwriter) you will help build the credit framework, policies, underwriting standards and risk processes from the ground up while being directly involved in individual transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite and structure credit facilities, including revolving credit facilities, working capital loans and liquidity facilities.
• Analyse companies' financial statements, cash flows, liquidity position and repayment capacity.
• Determine appropriate lending amounts, terms, covenants, security and other risk protections.
• Develop credit policies, underwriting guidelines, templates and concentration limits from scratch.
• Monitor credit risk and borrower performance and establish risk‑monitoring processes.
• Support the development and scaling of the new credit business.

Required profile

• 10+ years of relevant credit experience.
• Strong experience in credit underwriting and structuring, not just analysis.
• Background in institutional lending, private credit, venture debt, specialty finance or a similar environment.
• Previous experience with fintech and payments is mandatory.
• Experience establishing or developing credit policies, processes or risk frameworks.
• Crypto, digital assets or stablecoin experience is a plus but not required.
