Critical Operations Technician – Data Center (Switzerland)

About the role

The Critical Operations Technician joins the on‑site team that keeps a data‑center running 24/7/365. You will be responsible for the inspection, operation and maintenance of all mechanical and electrical equipment, ensuring no downtime of critical services.

Key responsibilities

• Perform operational, preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical plant.
• Carry out daily and weekly inspections of critical rooms, equipment and systems.
• Monitor alarms from Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Power Management Systems (EPMS) and other tools, and respond promptly.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults, interpreting schematics and diagrams.
• Isolate and reinstate electrical, cooling, fire‑alarm and gas‑suppression systems when authorised.
• Manage emergency situations, escalating incidents according to procedures.
• Maintain accurate logs in the Facility Management System and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Support technical quotations, project execution and documentation storage.

Required profile

• Trade certificate or vocational degree in an electrical or mechanical discipline (or equivalent).
• Experience with electrical or mechanical systems in a critical environment, preferably a data‑center.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to work autonomously and as part of a shift team.
• Willingness to learn new systems and participate in ongoing training.
