Customizing Packaging Specialist

About the role

As a Customizing Packaging Specialist you will lead packaging development and customization projects for Nestlé brands in the Swiss market, working with suppliers, co‑packers and cross‑functional teams to deliver innovative, compliant and cost‑effective packaging solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development and renovation projects for customized products, including promotional displays and packaging produced by third‑party co‑packers.
• Develop and evaluate packaging concepts with suppliers, ensuring reliability, practicality and suitability for production, transport, palletisation and in‑store use.
• Plan, coordinate and document packaging trials, including performance assessments and transport tests for new packaging and specification changes.
• Manage packaging‑related master data in SAP and contribute to accurate information maintenance.
• Identify and implement technical improvements and cost‑optimisation opportunities that reduce material usage, waste and losses.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, regulatory and sustainability requirements and share best practices within the packaging community.

Required profile

• Technical background in packaging, materials science, chemistry, mechanical engineering, physics or a related field.
• Project management, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑management skills with ability to coordinate suppliers and cross‑functional partners.
• Proactive, autonomous mindset with confidence to challenge constructively and influence stakeholders without formal authority.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of French and/or German is an advantage.
