Customs Functional Consultant

About the role

The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) is seeking a Customs Functional Consultant to support the mapping of the new ASYCUDA platform to regional requirements. This is a home‑based consultancy lasting from 1 August 2026 to 31 December 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Provide functional advice and testing for new ASYCUDA and Single Window modules in Turkmenistan.
• Test data exchange with external systems and prepare integration data sets.
• Update system information in line with new regulatory acts.
• Deliver trainings to customs staff and relevant governmental entities.
• Contribute regular inputs to project status reports and updates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in customs, business administration, law, economics or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in trade, investment or customs, preferably with exposure to Turkmenistan.
• Experience in customs administration, revenue authority, trade support institutions or international organisations is advantageous.
• Fluency in written and spoken English; knowledge of Russian or CIS regional languages is a plus.
