Data & AI Excellence Lead - RDT Data Management & Governance

About the role

Roche Digital Technology (RDT) is hiring a Data & AI Excellence Lead in its Data & AI Governance and Excellence team. This is a senior individual contributor role reporting directly to the Head of Data & AI Governance, with a dotted line to the Chief Data & AI Officer. It bridges Data Governance and AI Governance, turning group policies, AI ethics guidelines and governance frameworks into enterprise-wide practice, and acts as an enterprise data and AI ambassador.

Key responsibilities

• Drive Data and AI excellence, literacy and policy adoption across the enterprise, and act as the link between Data Governance and AI Governance.
• Translate governance policies, model governance requirements, AI ethics guidelines, data mesh architectures and data product methodologies into clear standards for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Communicate with C-level executives and hands-on contributors, presenting AI risk/opportunity frameworks and decision-ready materials.
• Contribute to enterprise Organizational Change Management (OCM) strategies for Data and AI adoption, ensuring adoption of governance tools and responsible AI practices without formal authority.
• Define Data & AI excellence metrics, cultural maturity indicators and value frameworks, and report to senior leadership.
• Design scalable train-the-trainer models and build an enterprise network of Data & AI champions.
• Support enterprise communications efforts, including strategy development, media and PR alignment, content oversight and performance tracking.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in digital technology, AI/data science, business or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience leading data and/or AI culture, change management, governance or digital transformation in a complex global matrix organization.
• Proven track record as a high-impact individual contributor or matrix leader without direct formal authority.
• Demonstrated experience operationalizing enterprise Data and AI strategy, AI ethics guidelines, model governance and responsible AI frameworks.

Required skills

• Solid AI governance knowledge (responsible AI, AI risk assessment, model lifecycle governance, Generative AI guidelines).
• Data governance principles (data products, data mesh, data quality, privacy).
• Organizational change management, AI/data literacy programs and champion network development.
• Ability to define adoption metrics, maturity models and executive reporting frameworks.
