Data Scientist – Multi-omics Integration

About the role
Join Syngenta's Digital & Data Science Group to develop multi‑omics integration and machine‑learning methods that drive innovative Biologicals solutions. You will work with high‑dimensional ‘omics datasets to uncover patterns, predict product performance, and support sustainable agriculture.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement multi‑omics integration strategies, including data harmonisation, feature engineering and network‑based methods.
- Apply and advance machine‑learning, statistical modelling and AI techniques to extract insights from complex datasets.
- Curate, quality‑control and integrate large‑scale ‘omics data, ensuring reproducibility and analytical readiness.
- Develop and validate new data‑analysis tools, communicating results to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Collaborate with R&D IT and software developers to deploy predictive models tailored to stakeholder needs.
Required profile
- MSc or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics or related field.
- 3+ years experience developing multi‑omics integration methods for biological or agricultural datasets.
- Strong background in natural sciences such as chemical biology, microbiology or ecology.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Python and/or R.
- Experience with UNIX/Linux environments.
- Knowledge of machine‑learning frameworks and SQL.
- Familiarity with proteomics and metabolomics data analysis is a plus.
