Gardener – Plant Production Research (m/f/d)

About the role
Syngenta is looking for a dedicated Gardener to support its Plant Production Research activities at the Stein site in Switzerland. You will be responsible for growing high‑quality plants from seed to experimental size, directly enabling scientific trials and innovation in crop protection.
Key responsibilities
- Cultivate premium plant material for reproducible biological experiments.
- Perform all gardening tasks including sowing, transplanting, repotting, watering and related secondary duties.
- Monitor plants for disease and pest pressure and take corrective actions.
- Optimize cultivation methods in close collaboration with the team leader.
- Document cultivation processes using digital tools and contribute to small technical projects.
- Adhere to safety regulations and participate in periodic Sunday and holiday shifts.
Required profile
- Completed vocational training as Gardener EFZ, Florist, Biology Laboratory Technician or equivalent.
- Interest in digitalisation, new technologies and greenhouse automation.
- Experience with high‑quality greenhouse crop cultivation is preferred.
- Strong observational skills, meticulous work style and openness to continuous improvement.
- Good German language skills and basic English proficiency.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
