Design Engineer / Konstrukteur*in

About the role

We are looking for a Design Engineer (Konstrukteur*in) to join Dufour Aerospace, a company developing efficient, sustainable tilt‑wing aircraft for cargo, logistics and public‑safety missions. The role combines 3‑D modelling, drawing creation and prototype development to bring innovative concepts to production.

Key responsibilities

• Create 3D models using Onshape and generate production‑ready, standards‑compliant drawings.
• Develop concepts, feasibility studies and simple functional prototypes, for example via 3D printing.
• Collaborate with stress analysis, production and other departments to ensure designs meet all technical requirements.
• Support optimisation of existing designs, applying Design for Manufacturing and Design for Cost principles.

Required profile

• Completed training as a designer, mechanical engineer or a related discipline.
• Several years of hands‑on experience with 3‑D CAD tools.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design and development processes.
• Passion for aviation, structured working style and good teamwork skills.
• Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Onshape (or comparable 3‑D CAD software).
• Mechanical design and engineering.
• 3‑D printing for rapid prototyping.
• Knowledge of fiber‑composite materials (a plus).
