DevOps Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to lead a strategic migration from multiple Git repositories to a unified monorepo for a Swiss‑based client. The role runs for six months starting June/July 2026 and focuses on building and optimizing GitLab CI/CD pipelines for embedded Linux projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the migration from multi‑repositories to a unified monorepo, consolidating GitLab pipelines.
• Analyse current repository structures and define scalable migration strategies.
• Design, implement and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
• Develop reusable GitLab pipeline components to enable modularisation.
• Integrate and automate Yocto/BitBake build processes within GitLab pipelines.
• Collaborate closely with software engineering and infrastructure teams.
• Ensure best practices in versioning, testing and deployment are followed.

Required profile

• Proven DevOps experience in complex environments.
• Deep knowledge of Git repository strategies (monorepo vs multirepo).
• Hands‑on experience with GitLab CI/CD, YAML pipelines, runners and optimisation.
• Familiarity with pipeline modularisation concepts such as GitLab Components.
• Experience with the Yocto Project and embedded Linux build systems.
• Competence with container technologies, especially Docker.
• Strong Linux background, including shell scripting and Python.
• Expertise in build optimisation techniques (caching, parallelisation, artifact management).
