Director, Corporate Affairs – Central & Eastern Europe

About the role

The Director, CHAT/CEE Corporate Affairs leads communications and advocacy across Switzerland, Austria, Poland, Romania, Hungary and the Czech Republic. Reporting to the Head of Europe/Germany, the role shapes strategy, narrative and execution for external and internal audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver an end‑to‑end Corporate Affairs strategy aligned with global priorities and local business objectives.
• Oversee external communications, media relations, reputation management and crisis response.
• Lead scientific, brand and clinical trial recruitment communications, ensuring alignment with corporate narratives.
• Shape patient‑advocacy and policy engagement in partnership with Government Affairs and Market Access.
• Coach and develop a culturally diverse, virtual team across the sub‑region.
• Manage the annual budget, vendor partnerships and performance metrics.

Required profile

• 15+ years of corporate affairs, brand or communications experience, preferably in pharma/biotech.
• Proven ability to counsel senior leaders and influence cross‑functional teams.
• Strong business acumen and experience managing matrixed, multi‑market initiatives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on storytelling.
• Demonstrated ethical conduct and alignment with BMS values.

Required skills

• Fluency in English and German; additional Central‑European language preferred.
• Advanced digital communications and social‑media expertise.
• Strategic planning, issue management and crisis communications.
