Director, Corporate Affairs – Central & Eastern Europe

About the role

The Director, CHAT/CEE Corporate Affairs is responsible for setting and executing communications and advocacy strategies across the CHAT/CEE sub‑region (Switzerland, Austria, Poland, Romania, Hungary, Czech Republic). This role covers external communications, media relations, patient advocacy, issues management, digital and scientific communications, site communications and internal communication.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver an end‑to‑end Corporate Affairs strategy for the sub‑region, aligning with global priorities and local business objectives.
• Oversee external communications, media relations, thought leadership, reputation management and crisis preparedness across all markets.
• Lead scientific and brand communications, including clinical trial recruitment messaging, ensuring alignment with corporate reputation goals.
• Shape and execute policy‑ and advocacy‑related communications in partnership with Government Affairs, Market Access and Medical Affairs.
• Coach and develop Corporate Affairs colleagues, fostering a high‑performance culture and ensuring alignment with commercial, drug development, GPS, medical, legal and other functions.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Communications, Business, Sciences or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of Corporate Affairs or communications experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
• Proven ability to counsel senior leaders and manage culturally diverse, virtual or hybrid teams.
• Fluency in English and German, with proficiency in an additional regional language preferred.
• Willingness to travel as needed across the sub‑region.
