Director Revenue Accounting

About the role

SOPHiA GENETICS is hiring a Director of Revenue Accounting for its Finance team, reporting to the Senior Finance Controller. The role ensures accurate and compliant financial reporting for global operations, leads SEC filings, supports consolidation across entities and maintains accounting policies and internal controls. It is a hybrid position with a minimum of 3 days onsite per week at the corporate office in Boston, MA or Rolle, Switzerland.

Key responsibilities

• Own the design, implementation and ongoing governance of global revenue accounting policies, systems, controls and procedures in line with IFRS 15 and related standards
• Lead monthly close for revenue, including journal entries, reconciliations, true-ups and variance analysis
• Act as the enterprise subject matter expert for revenue recognition, guiding complex and non-routine transactions
• Build and maintain SOX-compliant internal controls, policies and SOPs
• Partner with external auditors and serve as the primary contact for revenue-related audit matters
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and ad hoc projects

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA candidate preferred
• 10+ years of experience in public accounting serving publicly traded clients and public company work experience
• Preferred: biotechnology, pharmaceutical or life sciences experience
• Experience with SOX 404 and internal controls over financial reporting
• Project management, cross-functional collaboration and ability to manage multiple priorities

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP
• Microsoft Dynamics (a plus)

• Pay range of $104,000 - $186,000 for Massachusetts-based candidates
