Economic Affairs Contractor for UNECE Forum of Mayors

About the role

The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) is seeking an Economic Affairs Individual Contractor to support the Forum of Mayors 2026. Based at the UN premises in Geneva, the contractor will assist the secretariat in preparing documents, managing the online platform and supporting communication activities.

Key responsibilities

• Compile and draft invitation letters and a list of Mayors to be invited as speakers and participants for the Forum of Mayors 2026.
• Maintain and update content on the Forum of Mayors online platform, including website rebuilding and content refresh.
• Prepare minutes for Forum of Mayors Bureau meetings and pre‑Forum meetings.
• Draft press releases, newsletters, social‑media posts and articles for participants and local authorities.
• Develop interactive videos and PowerPoint presentations for project events and reports (approximately 20 pages in English).
• Assist with logistical arrangements for the Forum of Mayors and related side events.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in International Relations, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in economic affairs or a related area.
• Experience in event organization and website content management is desirable.
• Fluency in English.
