EMEA Import/Export Trade Operations Manager

About the role

3M is hiring an EMEA Import/Export Trade Operations Manager based in Langenthal, Switzerland. The role leads the global execution and standardization of 3M's import and export operations, directly manages EMEA Trade Compliance Operations and coordinates four regional Trade Compliance Operations teams across 45 countries. It works closely with International Transportation, Legal, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, IT and Global Trade Compliance Governance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the global customs operating model, including standardized import/export processes, regional frameworks, performance management, training and coaching.
• Manage customs broker execution worldwide, including third-party and internal self-filing customs broker activities.
• Lead the integration and continuous improvement of customs processes in SAP GTS and related digital platforms.
• Monitor trade operations metrics and program performance, drive root-cause analysis, corrective actions and adoption.
• Lead customs audit readiness, customs authority engagements, corrective action management and regulatory responses with Legal and Trade Governance.
• Manage transfer pricing adjustments for intercompany imports in certain countries and lead customs valuation methodology evaluations.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent compliance messaging and turn regulatory requirements into practical guidance and learning content.

Required profile

• Extensive direct experience in trade compliance system integration, customs operations, customs broker management, trade program management or related fields.
• Experience developing and leading customs compliance operations teams in multiple countries.
• Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders in a complex, multi-industry global business.
• Business-level written and verbal English.
• Nice to have: bachelor's degree or higher (master's or professional degree preferred); EU and Middle East import/export experience; experience improving trade compliance operations at scale; strong project and program management and change management skills.

Required skills

• SAP GTS customs compliance module, including self-filing customs broker execution, bonded warehouse and free trade zone operations.
• Intercompany sales and transfer pricing as they relate to customs valuation.
