Energy Data Engineer & Developer

About the role

A digital platform supporting the energy transition helps its customers plan, tender and implement renewable energy systems in real estate and industrial companies, improving economic efficiency and CO2 balance while reducing technical, commercial and energy risks. The company is strengthening its Product Management team and is looking for an Energy Data Engineer & Developer to analyse energy data, support AI-based price and energy forecasts and turn operational and financial performance into actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse energy data, including production, consumption and storage, to find optimisation opportunities
• Run AI-based market analysis and contribute to price and energy forecasts
• Analyse asset data, project progress and operational, environmental and financial performance
• Perform trend, variance and gap analysis and turn findings into recommendations
• Validate data quality and run plausibility checks
• Develop and maintain a central data and reporting infrastructure with IT teams
• Create KPI reports, dashboards and visualisations for internal and external stakeholders
• Work with management, operations, sales and country organisations to support data-driven decisions

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Business Informatics, Physics, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 3+ years building data pipelines that ran in production with real users, not just proofs of concept
• Experience deploying and maintaining your own infrastructure: infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or similar), CI/CD, containers and cloud
• Comfortable owning a system end-to-end, with a team around you but no assigned tickets for your parts

Required skills

• High proficiency in SQL, including window functions and time-series aggregation
• Strong Python
• Time-series or analytical data stores such as TimescaleDB, PostgreSQL at scale, ClickHouse, Snowflake, BigQuery or Databricks
