Engineering Manager, Core APIs

About the role

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Core APIs team in Switzerland. The role combines hands‑on technical leadership with people management to build high‑performance, developer‑centric API platforms that power fraud‑prevention solutions for global customers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and grow a team of software engineers developing and scaling core API services and platform infrastructure.
• Provide architectural guidance, drive scalability, performance optimisation and cloud‑native development practices.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, product managers and cross‑functional stakeholders to deliver robust API‑first solutions.
• Foster engineering excellence through code reviews, coaching, technical guidance and continuous learning initiatives.
• Drive agile development processes and ensure timely delivery of high‑quality, scalable software.
• Manage performance, career development and knowledge‑sharing to support team growth.
• Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Promote innovation, accountability and operational excellence while continuously improving engineering processes.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience managing software engineering teams in agile environments.
• 5+ years of hands‑on software engineering experience, preferably in SaaS or cloud‑based platforms.
• Proven track record of delivering scalable and reliable software solutions.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and a strategic, growth‑oriented mindset.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Experience in fast‑paced, iterative environments and remote‑first organisations is a plus.
