Ethics Office Internship

About the role

The Ethics Office Internship offers a unique opportunity to work within the World Intellectual Property Organization’s Ethics Office in Geneva. Under the supervision of the Chief Ethics Officer, the intern will apply legal knowledge to real‑world ethical challenges in an international civil service environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research for new or revised ethics policies, drawing on United Nations common‑system sources.
• Assist with fact‑finding and legal research, including gathering case information and liaising with other units.
• Help formulate advice on ethics‑related issues.
• Contribute to outreach and awareness‑raising activities, creating written and visual education materials.
• Draft reports, memoranda, correspondence and PowerPoint presentations.
• Update and enhance the Ethics Office’s Internet and Intranet pages.
• Perform other related tasks as required.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (Master’s level) in law, preferably public international law, ethics or compliance.
• Strong interest in the law of the international civil service and ethical standards.
• Ability to work under supervision and collaborate with diverse units.

• Microsoft PowerPoint for preparing presentations.
