Experimental/Breeding Lab Support

About the role

Eurofins IES AG, part of the Eurofins Agroscience Group, is a Swiss mid-sized company near Basel offering ecotoxicology, environmental fate, animal and crop metabolism and analytical chemistry testing services. It is looking for a full-time Experimental/Breeding Lab Support person who will carry out breeding tasks in strict compliance with GLP-compliant standard operating procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Perform all tasks according to GLP-compliant SOPs, accurately, precisely, autonomously and on time, following the project plan of the Ecotox Biology Department.
• Set up, maintain and breed algae, Daphnia, Chironomus, Lumbriculus and various fish species (e.g. zebrafish, fathead minnow, carp, trout).
• Prepare and apply feeds such as algae for Daphnia and Artemia for fish.
• Draft and revise SOPs, calibrate equipment and carry out general lab maintenance.
• Report breeding progress across species in a timely, concise and clear way.

Required profile

• No academic bachelor's degree required.
• A valid LTK1 certification or licence to work with animals is mandatory.
• Fluent English is mandatory; German preferably fluent, French an asset.
• Experience with breeding, keeping, handling and sampling of algae, Daphnia, Chironomus (and Lumbriculus) and fish is preferred.
• Ability to work accurately and on time in a strictly regulated environment with detailed SOPs, and to report failures or deviations promptly.
