Expert Consultant – Behavioural Science and SDG Localisation

About the role

The United Nations Office at Geneva is seeking an expert consultant to provide academic and methodological input for the Beyond Lab, strengthening the strategic use of behavioural science across the initiative.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the behavioural science strategy, ensuring methodological rigour and translating proposals into practical workplans.
• Identify behavioural barriers, develop applied frameworks and provide senior technical advice.
• Design and deliver workshops for internal and external UN stakeholders and scope 2‑3 priority projects.
• Develop guidance, learning products and strategic inputs, including briefings, presentations and training materials.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (PhD or equivalent) in behavioural science, public policy, psychology, behavioural economics or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in applied behavioural science, designing and advising on interventions in complex real‑world settings.
• Experience working with governments, multilateral institutions or UN bodies is strongly desirable.
