Field Representative Development Program – 2027 Start

About the role

The Field Representative Development Program is a 1‑2 year launchpad into a high‑impact career at Caterpillar, combining hands‑on experience, world‑class training, and exposure to Cat® dealers worldwide. Graduates will move into a field‑based sales role supporting dealers and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Complete an immersive 3‑month cohort training covering products, services, industry strategies, and communication skills.
• Participate in rotational assignments (12‑18 months) across the organization to develop technical and commercial expertise.
• Work on strategic projects that go beyond classroom learning and prepare for customer‑facing responsibilities.
• After graduation, assume a Sales Representative role, managing machine/engine sales cycles, dealer support, forecasting, and new product roll‑outs.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Willingness to travel 30‑70% and live abroad up to 3 months for training/rotation.
• Fluent English and a valid passport through August 2027.
• Critical thinking, problem‑solving, communication, learning agility, and teamwork abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office / O365, including advanced Excel.
• Ability to build simple dashboards or visualisations (e.g., Power BI).
• Digital and data literacy for interpreting data sets.
