Finance Commercial Analyst

About the role

MSC Cargo is looking for a Finance Commercial Analyst to join its Financial Analysis department in Geneva. You will support management and liners by delivering insightful financial analyses that drive profitability across the shipping business.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze MSC trades and services, covering operational, commercial and financial aspects to identify profitability drivers.
• Propose profitability improvement actions to relevant stakeholders based on analysis.
• Simulate net results for new or modified services, evaluate outcomes and present findings to management or liners.
• Estimate preliminary voyage profitability as soon as vessels call the last port of load.
• Assist liners in benchmarking customer value globally or trade‑specific.
• Complete monthly business analysis as requested by management.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Business Management or a maritime discipline.
• 5‑7 years of experience in a similar finance role.
• First experience in the shipping or logistics industry.
• Strong analytical abilities with high accuracy and precision.
• Team player with excellent communication skills.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• EU citizenship or a valid Swiss work permit (B‑C) is required.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
