Full-Stack Software Engineer – PLM Platform

About the role

The Engineering Department’s Information Management group at CERN is seeking a motivated full‑stack software engineer to join the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) team. You will help modernise a heterogeneous application landscape and contribute to the creation of engineering Digital Twins for the accelerator complex.

Key responsibilities

• Develop backend services using Java or .NET.
• Build modern web applications with React, Electron and Typescript.
• Integrate 3D visualisation, virtual and augmented reality viewers.
• Perform code reviews, testing, delivery and ongoing support.
• Conduct data analysis and support data migration activities.
• Collaborate in an Agile, DevOps‑driven environment.

Required profile

• Experience (up to 2 years) with large‑scale projects in Java EE or .NET.
• Familiarity with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL or SQL Server.
• Knowledge of Agile and DevOps practices.
• Fluent written and spoken English; willingness to learn French.
• National of a CERN Member or Associate Member State, holding a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
• No prior CERN fellow or graduate contract, and no PhD.

• Fixed‑term contract of 24 months, extendable to 36 months.
• Hybrid work model, 40 hours per week, starting 1 September 2026.
