Funded EU Delegation Traineeships in Geneva – Multiple Sections

About the role

The EU Delegation in Geneva offers funded traineeships of three to six months for recent graduates interested in international relations and diplomatic work. Trainees will be placed in one of several sections – Human Rights, Economic Affairs, Social Affairs & Labour, or Health – and will support the Delegation’s activities in multilateral settings.

Key responsibilities

• Draft briefings, background notes and analytical reports for meetings and conferences.
• Conduct research and prepare statements for UN‑related sessions.
• Support logistical arrangements for official visits and high‑level events.
• Assist in the preparation of meeting documents, summaries of newly issued reports and policy analyses.
• Participate in Human Rights Council, ILO, WHO and other UN‑organised meetings, providing real‑time support.
• Coordinate with EU Member States and other stakeholders on sector‑specific issues.

Required profile

• Recent graduate with a strong interest in international relations, diplomacy or related fields.
• Willingness to work on a full‑time basis for 3‑6 months, starting September/October 2026.
• Ability to work in a multilingual, multicultural environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
