General Counsel – AI‑First Legal Delivery

About the role

Puffy, a market‑leading D2C brand with over $1 billion in sales, seeks a General Counsel to own legal judgment across its e‑commerce, investment, and personal matters. The role is AI‑first, using advanced tools for document analysis, research, and drafting while maintaining professional responsibility.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver monthly Legal Exposure Audits and quarterly compliance sweeps across product, pricing, advertising, and terms.
• Review, negotiate, and monitor fund subscriptions, side letters, custody arrangements, loan covenants, and other investment documents.
• Draft, review, and negotiate vendor, retail, affiliate, and CEO personal contracts, coordinating with specialist outside counsel as needed.
• Use AI as the primary production method for legal research, risk analysis, and executive reporting, verifying sources and outcomes.

Required profile

• Recognized law degree (JD, LLB or equivalent) and qualification as a lawyer in good standing in at least one jurisdiction.
• 5‑10 years of relevant legal experience operating without an internal legal team, with strong commercial drafting and risk‑identification skills.
• Demonstrated hands‑on experience using AI tools for substantive legal work.
• Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AI legal tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and workflow automation platforms (e.g., n8n).
• Executive‑level communication and discretion.
