Global Head of Clinical Supply Chain Strategy and Business Operations Support

About the role

Roche is looking for a Global Head of Clinical Supply Chain Strategy and Business Operations Support, based in Kaiseraugst. The role leads end-to-end strategy for the PTDS business, integrates digital and AI roadmaps, manages budgets and risk, and directs a multicultural team across global hubs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the PTDS business strategy, annual strategy reviews, SQDEC goals and global business project portfolio management, aligned with PTD and R&D Vision 2030
• Drive digital, ERP and AI roadmaps, including ASPIRE (SAP S/4HANA and ICSM migration), CLARA, OMP and analytics and reporting
• Line-manage the PTD OE Team Lead and OE Hub to promote Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen events and root cause analysis across PTDx projects
• Lead T0-T3 budget rounds, covering 1-year operational resourcing and 3-5 year strategic horizons, including clinical trial study costs (PVC planning)
• Establish risk management frameworks, emergency incident response (LEM) and Business Continuity Management (BCM)
• Own plan-to-deliver processes, regulatory compliance, master data quality and process standardisation
• Oversee sustainability and carbon reduction, line-managing the PTD Sustainability Lead
• Direct a team across Kaiseraugst/Basel, South San Francisco and Mississauga

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or Business Administration; Master's, MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred
• 15+ years in pharma, biotech or healthcare, with deep expertise in global clinical trial supply and regulatory environments
• 5+ years of direct line management and executive leadership of large, cross-functional, multi-site teams
• Fluent English; German is an advantage; up to 10% international travel

Required skills

• Digital transformation, Agile/SAFe and enterprise ERP implementation (e.g. SAP S/4HANA, OMP)
• Long-range planning, PVC cost management, project portfolio management and budget governance
• Certifications such as PMP or Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt
