Head of Data & AI

About the role

We are seeking a Head of Data & AI to define and execute the strategic vision for a unified data organization in Switzerland. You will lead teams across Data Engineering, Data Science, AI, Quantitative Analytics, and Business Intelligence, turning complex data into measurable business value.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the overall Data & AI strategy aligned with long‑term business goals.
• Lead, mentor and grow multidisciplinary technical teams while establishing standards and career frameworks.
• Design scalable, reliable and secure data platform architectures, including ETL/ELT pipelines, real‑time processing and cloud infrastructure.
• Drive AI and Large Language Model initiatives such as retrieval‑augmented generation, AI agents, intelligent automation and semantic search.
• Set best practices for Data Engineering, MLOps and LLMOps covering CI/CD, model versioning, monitoring, observability and prompt management.
• Ensure data quality, governance, security, compliance and responsible AI practices.
• Partner with business stakeholders to deliver executive dashboards, advanced analytics and experimentation frameworks.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of hands‑on experience in data engineering, data science, machine learning, quantitative analytics and data analytics.
• At least 3 years of leadership experience managing technical data teams.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related quantitative discipline.

Required skills

• Strong Python programming expertise.
• Experience building production‑grade ETL/ELT pipelines and real‑time data processing.
• Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and scalable data platform design.
• Proficiency with MLOps and LLMOps practices, including CI/CD, model versioning, monitoring and observability.
• Hands‑on experience with Large Language Models, retrieval‑augmented generation, AI agents and semantic search.
• Understanding of data governance, security, compliance and responsible AI principles.
