Head of External Communications

About the role

Holcim, a global building materials and building solutions company headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, is looking for a Head of External Communications. The role leads relations, drives corporate reporting and protects the company's reputation as it positions itself as a leading partner for sustainable, circular, energy-efficient and smart building solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Drive media strategy, corporate reporting and manage issues across global markets
• Position Holcim as the world's leading partner in sustainable, circular, energy-efficient and smart building solutions
• Brief senior leaders including the Executive Committee and Country CEOs on key engagements and build relationships with top-tier international, national and industry trade media
• Steer corporate issues proactively and act as senior counsel during high-stakes situations
• Elevate financial and non-financial reporting into compelling omni-channel communication
• Mentor a direct team of communications specialists and lead a global network of 200+ communicators

Required profile

• 10+ years in corporate communications, PR agencies or business journalism, with a proven track record in a global corporate environment; Swiss / SMI experience preferred
• Expertise in integrated omnichannel communications, public affairs and crisis management
• Fluent English; German is a strong plus
• Ability to travel internationally (20%); entrepreneurial self-starter with direct leadership and functional influence
