Head of Finance

About the role

We are seeking a Head of Finance to lead the financial function of a fast-growing, consumer-focused digital business based in Switzerland. As the first in-house finance leader, you will build the finance backbone from the ground up, providing strategic insight and operational rigor to support rapid scaling in a remote-first environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain financial models, forecasts and strategic plans, including growth projections, scenario analysis and cash-flow management.
• Own the budgeting process and deliver clear visibility into financial trade-offs, risks and performance drivers for senior leadership.
• Prepare investor-ready financial statements, board decks and reporting packages to support fundraising and strategic discussions.
• Oversee inventory accounting, cost controls and reconciliation of revenue, expenses, cash flow and COGS.
• Establish robust financial controls, audit-ready processes and reliable month-end close procedures in line with accounting standards.
• Partner with department heads to align budgets, monitor spend and improve financial decision-making.
• Develop contingency and scenario planning frameworks (Plan B/Plan C) to enhance business resilience.
• Serve as the organization’s financial “source of truth,” consolidating and standardising data and reporting systems.

Required profile

• 5-10+ years of experience in finance, FP&A, accounting or operational finance, preferably in high-growth or startup environments.
• Proven track record managing inventory-heavy or product-based financial operations.
• Strong accounting foundation; CPA or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
• Ability to balance strategic advisory responsibilities with hands-on financial execution.

Required skills

• Advanced financial modeling, forecasting and budgeting.
• Expertise in Excel or Google Sheets.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks or Sage.
