Junior General Ledger Accountant

About the role

Within the Finance department, the Junior GL Accountant contributes to the maintenance of general accounting records and to the reliability of financial information by ensuring the recording, monitoring, and reconciliation of accounting transactions. The role actively participates in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, complying with applicable accounting standards and internal procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Record and review day‑to‑day accounting entries (revenue, payroll, overheads, bank entries, provisions) ensuring compliance with Group and local accounting rules.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, business systems and intercompany balances, and analyse variances.
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities, prepare account reconciliations and audit documentation.
• Prepare financial statements, consolidation reporting and update financial dashboards.
• Organise aged balance reviews, monitor customer accounts and handle external tax filings (Corporate Income Tax, VAT, Pillar 2).
• Apply internal accounting procedures, ensure compliance with IFRS and Swiss GAAP, and coordinate with the Shared Service Center.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or CFC/Federal Certificate in accounting (or equivalent) – in progress is acceptable.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in general accounting or an accounting firm (internships included).
• Fluency in French and English; German is a plus.
• Strong accuracy, attention to detail and ability to manage priorities.

Required skills

• Solid knowledge of general accounting principles, IFRS and Swiss GAAP.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP is an advantage).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office suite.
