Head of Plant Engineering 80-100% (m/f/d)

About the role

Lead engineering operations, maintenance strategy, utilities and capital investments across multiple manufacturing plants in Visp, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all engineering activities, managing supervisors, engineers and specialists across several sites.
• Oversee people management duties including hiring, development, performance management and compensation.
• Define and implement maintenance strategies, standards and changeover concepts to maximise reliability and cost efficiency.
• Act as Engineering Lead for capital investment projects, providing utility expertise and supporting design, construction and commissioning.
• Manage engineering, maintenance, utility, CAPEX and operational budgets while fostering innovation and cross‑functional collaboration.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, Automation or related discipline.
• 10+ years of engineering and maintenance leadership experience, preferably in biopharmaceutical or highly regulated manufacturing.
• Proven experience leading large‑scale CAPEX projects from design through commissioning.
• Strong knowledge of GMP requirements and familiarity with engineering and maintenance systems such as COMOS and SAP.
• Business‑fluent English (required) and German (preferred).
