HR & Office Generalist (Cham, Switzerland)

About the role
Landis+Gyr is seeking a motivated HR & Office Generalist to support its headquarters in Cham, near Zurich. You will be the backbone of local HR and office operations, ensuring smooth employee lifecycle processes and a well‑organized workplace.
Key responsibilities
- Provide operational and administrative services for all employee‑lifecycle changes (personal data, job information, social security, payroll, occupational health, insurance).
- Prepare payroll inputs and collaborate with the external payroll provider to guarantee accurate, timely payroll processing.
- Support end‑to‑end personnel processes, including onboarding, transfers, and off‑boarding.
- Draft and administer employment contracts, amendments, reference letters, education agreements and other HR documents.
- Supervise work‑permit applications and short‑term registrations.
- Oversee day‑to‑day office operations: visitor management, health & safety, site administration, office supplies and equipment maintenance.
- Act as the first point of contact for employee and office‑related requests.
- Maintain HR systems such as SuccessFactors, SharePoint and TimeShepherd.
- Conduct onboarding sessions to ensure a positive first‑day experience.
- Ensure compliance with local labour laws and company policies.
Required profile
- Completed commercial education with HR training (e.g., HR Assistant certification) or a recent degree in Business, Human Resources or a related field.
- 2–3 years of experience in operational HR and office environments, preferably in a specialist/generalist role.
- Experience supporting payroll processes in collaboration with an external provider.
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities with a hands‑on approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on teamwork and intercultural understanding.
- Proficiency in MS Office and experience with HR systems (e.g., SuccessFactors).
- Fluent in English and German, both spoken and written.
