Human Rights Officer (Statistical Data)

About the role

The Human Rights Officer (Statistical Data) will work within the Innovation & Analytics Hub of the OHCHR in Geneva, supporting the development and delivery of human‑rights statistical indicators and data‑driven analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and apply methodological guidance, tools and documentation for human‑rights indicators linked to international standards and the 2030 Agenda.
• Organise and deliver training, technical assistance and consultations with internal and external partners, including UN agencies, NGOs and statistical institutions.
• Review literature and practices on human‑rights statistics and support the measurement of international standards.
• Collect, evaluate, analyse and disseminate statistical data, selecting appropriate methods and ensuring integration into global and country‑level reporting.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s) in Statistics, Economics, Development Studies, Law, Social Sciences or related field.
• At least five years of progressive experience in human‑rights or related analytical work at national or international level.
• Minimum two years of experience using statistical or econometrics software (e.g., R, Python, STATA).
• Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research, develop analytical frameworks and produce clear reports.
