Information Management Officer

About the role

The Independent Institution on Missing Persons in the Syrian Arab Republic (IIMP) seeks an Information Management Officer to lead the development, maintenance, and strategic use of its records and archives. The position is based in Geneva with the possibility of relocation to Damascus or another relevant location.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines for non‑current records, archives, and electronic record‑keeping systems.
• Lead technical analysis of data structures, provide expert advice on search queries, and oversee eDiscovery training for internal and external stakeholders.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, recommend hardware/software purchases, and manage the implementation of electronic record‑keeping solutions.

Required profile

• Professional knowledge of information management, archival practices, record disposition, and electronic data preservation.
• Strong analytical and research skills to assess information‑management trends and formulate policy recommendations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with eDiscovery tools and processes.
• Experience in data visualization and reporting (graphs, charts, tables).
• Knowledge of metadata standards, digital archiving, and record‑keeping systems.
