Information Management Officer – Temporary

About the role

The Independent Institution on Missing Persons in the Syrian Arab Republic (IIMP) is seeking a temporary Information Management Officer to support its records, archives, and eDiscovery activities. The position is based in Geneva with the possibility of relocation to Damascus or another site as required by UN regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to policies, procedures, and guidelines for non‑current records, archives, and reference services.
• Define technical objectives for search, analytical, investigative, and data‑extraction tasks and oversee their implementation.
• Lead analysis of data structures, advise staff on extraction methods, and resolve complex user queries.
• Provide expert advice on system design, security‑classification enforcement, and declassification reviews.
• Develop and deliver training programs on eDiscovery tools for internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage unit‑level administrative duties, including budgeting, HR, and facilities management.
• Design and implement client‑outreach strategies and represent the Section in inter‑agency working groups.
