Internet Governance Internship (Remote)

About the role

The Department of Economic and Social Affairs is looking for a remote intern to support the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) Secretariat in Geneva. The intern will assist with technical and program facilitation for the annual IGF meeting and intersessional activities, helping to ensure smooth online participation and effective communication.

Key responsibilities

• Support IGF program platforms, including the interactive scheduling system, bilateral room reservation system, and remote participation setup.
• Assist with website functions, design, and the IGF web application.
• Contribute to the planning and execution of social‑media campaigns.
• Help deliver training for remote‑participation support staff.
• Compile annual participation statistics and conduct media analysis.
• Support the development of intersessional work, national, regional and youth IGF initiatives, and capacity‑building activities.
• Assist with layout and design of final IGF output documents.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or having completed a graduate programme, or in the final year of a bachelor’s programme (or equivalent).
• Field of study closely related to internet governance, communications, or information technology.
• Good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
