IT Consultant – ASYCUDA Platform Enhancement

About the role

The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) is seeking an IT Consultant to support the efficient mapping of the new ASYCUDA platform to regional requirements. This remote, home‑based assignment will run from 15 August 2026 to 15 December 2026 under the supervision of the UNCTAD ASYCUDA Regional Coordinator for Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Key responsibilities

• Implement software enhancements covering databases, workflows, interfaces, business rules and reporting, ensuring alignment with ASYCUDA standards, data integrity and security.
• Design test scenarios, create test data, analyse results, identify defects and follow up on corrective actions.
• Contribute to system monitoring, quality assurance, documentation and knowledge‑management activities.
• Create additional features for the ASYREC environment and work on extensions of ASYCUDA modules.
• Test new developments produced by the ASYCUDA team and provide technical support as needed.

Required profile

• A first university degree (Bachelor) in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the ICT sector with direct involvement in IT programming.
• Experience in an ICT unit of a governmental agency or international organisation is an advantage.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
