IT Infrastructure and Cloud Architect

About the role

The IT Infrastructure and Cloud Architect at Solvias AG is a strategic, two‑year contract position responsible for designing, evolving and governing the enterprise‑wide IT infrastructure and cloud architecture. The role ensures that platforms align with business objectives, security standards and regulatory requirements while driving operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and evolution of enterprise IT infrastructure and cloud architecture, ensuring scalability, security and business alignment.
• Develop and maintain technology roadmaps, standards and patterns for infrastructure, cloud platforms and application integrations.
• Oversee solution architecture for complex initiatives, integrating hardware, software, data and cloud services.
• Collaborate with business leaders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Implement “secure by design” architectures and ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 27001 and other regulations.
• Assess emerging technologies and recommend adoption to improve capabilities and efficiency.
• Create and maintain architectural documentation, CMDB, blueprints and governance models.
• Design robust backup, restore, high‑availability and disaster‑recovery solutions to ensure business continuity.
• Work closely with internal infrastructure, cybersecurity and lab IT teams to identify requirements and deliver solutions.
• Monitor system performance and security, recommending enhancements and responding to incidents.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred) or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years of hands‑on infrastructure and cloud engineering or architecture experience.
• Proven experience delivering backup, restore and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Strong background in virtualization, cloud platforms, storage and networking.
