IT Onsite Support Engineer – 1st & 2nd Level (English & German)

About the role

D-ploy is seeking an IT Onsite Support Engineer to provide 1st and 2nd level support at the Heerbrugg site. You will ensure stable local IT infrastructure, deliver friendly on‑site assistance, and support daily operations for our international clients.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a stable local IT environment with support from the Competence Center.
• Deliver high‑quality, professional on‑site support and ensure smooth daily IT operations.
• Install, configure, replace, and maintain endpoint hardware and standard client devices.
• Set up and relocate IT workplaces, including notebooks, desktops, docking stations, monitors, printers, and meeting‑room equipment.
• Perform basic troubleshooting, coordinate escalations, and support local rollouts, device exchanges, and hardware refreshes.
• Visit all assigned sites regularly, keep local IT documentation up to date, and coordinate with internal stakeholders and suppliers.

Required profile

• Good knowledge of IT hardware and standard client devices.
• Basic understanding of standard workplace software.
• Service‑oriented, structured work style with strong communication skills.
• Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
• Willingness to travel between assigned sites and ability to provide a recent criminal record extract.

Required skills

• IT hardware handling (notebooks, desktops, docking stations, monitors, printers, peripherals).
• Endpoint device configuration and maintenance.
• Basic ITSM task and incident management.
