IT Support Engineer (Helpdesk) – Visp

About the role

This full‑time, on‑site position provides first‑ and second‑level support to end users in Visp. You will handle help‑desk tickets, diagnose hardware, software and network issues, and ensure smooth daily IT operations.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to help‑desk tickets, troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and connectivity problems.
• Install, configure and maintain workstations, peripherals and user accounts.
• Perform routine system checks, updates, backups and security tasks.
• Document incidents, create knowledge‑base articles and collaborate with the IT team.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑service mindset with clear written and spoken communication.
• Relevant vocational training or degree in IT, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks on‑site and follow documented procedures.

Required skills

• Operating system fundamentals (Windows, macOS, Linux).
• Network basics and troubleshooting.
• Ticketing systems and remote support tools.
• Basic to intermediate system administration (user management, updates, backups, security).
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft are a plus.
